Description:

The least bittern is a small heron with a distinctive look. They are mostly brown with a black crown and back; yellow bill and eyes; white underparts with light brown streaks.

Habitat:

Spotted in tall reeds and grasses in a marsh at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center.
