Field Notes

Description:

Light gray finch with black face and yellow chest and wingbars. Found mainly in central California and southwest. Long song with a twinkling sound.

Habitat:

It's nomadic behavior has them follow food and water and may not breed in the same areas. Some of the habitats include desert arroyos, river floodplains, weedy fields, roadsides, cultivated fields, orchards, gardens, and parks.
