It's just the perspective of the shot that suggests an unusual habitat. No, it was not growing on deadwood ;) Thanks for confirming, gully.moy
What was it growing from. I suspected C. gambosa too, but the habitat looks wrong.

Lars. If this one was found in May in Germany, it can be a Calocybe gambosa (St. George's mushroom) since it is one of the spring and early summer mushrooms we have in Europe.
