Field Notes

Description:

White butterfly, medium sized.

Habitat:

Meadows, near forests edges, damp, grassy places with some shade, hedgerows and wooded river valleys. Europe, Asia, including the Indian subcontinent, Japan, Maghreb and North America.

Notes:

These butterflies are very common around here-can see them in big numbers and every year. Called "repičin belin" in slovenian. You can read more about these butterflies if you check out the links!

thank you, bayucca! i've seen those two here as well, but are so quick i never get them on camera :/
In some areas of Europe, this one is even more common than Pieris rapae or Pieris brassicae.
