Eurasian Jay

Jays are a common sight around our garden, especially at this time of the year when the trees are laden with small plums. These Jays are of the species 'Atricapillus' due to its black crown and pale face, are common to Turkey, The Middle East and Asia. They are very noisy birds and have a variety of different calls and often seem to be arguing with each other. I had been watching this one for ages, waiting for him to close a little closer to get a decent shot, when I gave up and went to get a coffee, he decided to land our our neighbours wall, so my husband grabbed the camera.
