Field Notes

Description:

The back is a dark purplish and has blotches extending the length of the back. The belly is plain white and extends onto the head. This guy was just shy of 5 feet.

Habitat:

Was found basking on the road in the evening. I took him and measured, weighed, and marked him to continue the ongoing snake research at this site. We released him the next day, when he proceeded to climb up a not so big tree, then crawled onto a pretty small branch that fell down about eye level to me because he was pretty hefty.
