Field Notes

Description:

A drab brown bird with a black mask on the face that has white above it and a bright yellow throat below it.

Habitat:

Found in the cattails in a swamp. I was sitting behind a big clump of cattails so he didn't notice me while he was up on a branch cleaning himself. These birds are more often heard than seen.
