Field Notes

Description:

They have a plain brown back and a plain white belly. The brown extends onto the top of the head, and the bill is yellow.

Habitat:

Flew onto a tree near me while I was photographing frogs in a swamp. This was my lifer cuckoo :)

Thanks Aaron and Tom! When I saw it fly in I looked with my binos first, immediately knew what it was, and was scrambling to get my camera ready before it flew off. It ended up staying a few minutes though, was very cooperative :) And I've seen at least a dozen more since then!
Proof that a photographer always needs to be ready! (which you seem to be) Another fine spotting!
Congrats on a lifer! Nice shot, these birds can be hard to get in the open.
