Field Notes

Description:

Moth of varying shades of brown in a geometric pattern, about 1 cm long with very hairy legs. The second and third pictures was taken on 3 August 2013 in the same place. Family Noctuidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you Jacob for the identification! I wasn't even sure of the family of this one. It is amazing how many of the moths and even other insects of Florida are also found in the highlands of Chiapas.
