Field Notes

Description:

Small bright orange-red starfish found along west coast of North America. By positioning its arms close together it can move itself or even flip itself over if need be.

Habitat:

Spotted on an exposed rock at low tide. Tide pools at Tongue Point.

Thank you for commenting Sukanya, Tukup, and Mauna. I was a bit disappointed that this was the only starfish I found at these tide pools, but I will be posting some other interesting creatures, seaweed, etc. That I found.
