Field Notes

Description:

The Moth shown here appears to be from the Superfamily Gelechioidea. It was spotted at the same time and place as another Curved-horn Moth (on an adjacent stem of the same plant), but I could not include them both in the same spotting, because they, obviously, had a number of differences. I have been unable to identify either of these moths, despite several attempts, over the last eight years. So, I felt that the best course of action was to post them separately, but indicate that the spottings are related. I am aware that the differences between these two moths might just be sexual dimorphism, but I can't consider that, until I can identify one or the pther of these two moths.

Habitat:

This Curved-horn Moth was spotted, in the rice mill backyard, on unidentified weeds growing along the edge of a rice field.
