Cooper's Hawk
Accipiter cooperii
34.488, -79.196
Field Notes
Description:
A young Cooper's Hawk, not injured at all. He did fly off after I walked up and petted his tail feathers.
Habitat:
Forest edge.
Notes:
This bird was completely uninjured and yet unafraid of people. He seemed very young and was quite interested in my neighbor's chicken pen (seen in the photos).
