Field Notes

Description:

Small yellow flower. Many petal flowers (11?). Leaves are lobbed/spikey and folded. It looks very similar to Hawksbeard but Hawksbeard only has 5 petals(?)

Habitat:

Found in rocky soil, sunny area on mountain side. Central Utah Mountains.

Ali - Good suggestion but I'm pretty sure it's not that. My other idea was perhaps it is Broom Snakeweed (Gutierrezia sarothrae).
