Description:

This male Blue Dasher dragonfly turned to look at the camera and smiled! With his white face, green eyes, blue abdomen and the black and yellow stripes on his thorax, he is a very colorful specimen.

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh water canal in western Boca Raton, FL

Notes:

This species of dragonfly holds its wings forward and downward while perched. He likes to land on a dead bush above the canal's edge or on the algae pads floating in the water. He is about 2 inches long.
