Field Notes

Description:

There are several sub-species of Yellow Wagtail with widely varying plumages and some have individual unique Common Names. Some authorities lump them together under Western Yellow Wagtail while locally based authorities have their own Common names, which I have used here, as they differentiate the different sub-species, many of which pass through on migration.

Habitat:

Fields by coastal marshes
