Field Notes

Description:

Male and Female Monarch Butterfly Mating

Habitat:

Monarchs can be found in a wide range of habitats. These two were in my backyard in North East Florida near the coast. I have a butterfly garden containing Milk Weed (Monarch Host Plant) and many Nectar plants.

Notes:

I watched the male Monarch carry the female upside down through the air then they landed in a near by Ligustrum tree on a dead invasive vine.
