Field Notes

Description:

Very small brown wren with faint pattern on wings and tail.
The first image is the parent feeding the nestling(s). Both parents were busy going back and forth. The 3rd image is one of the parents getting rid of the fecal sac.

Habitat:

These wrens are in a cool oak forest near a creek. The nest is in a cavity, possibly an old nuthatch or woodpecker hole.

Notes:

The nesting hole is a foot above an Ash-throated Flycatchers nesting hole.
