Description:
Sprawling plant with palmate, lobed leaves, mostly in groups of 5. White hairs on the underside of the leaves give them a "silvery" appearance. Stems reddish with white hairs. Bright yellow flowers with 5 petals with alternating pointed, hairy sepals (the little green things between the petals). Rose Family. Introduced from Eurasia.
Habitat:
Cedar Creek County Park, New York. Fence line near an archery range.
Notes:
Roots are said to be edible.
