Description:

Could someone please confirm (if possible) that these are lesser black backed and not yellow legged gulls? I have blown the photo up to 200% and can not see a red ring around the eye as in the yellow legged, also the RSPB states that they are only found in Southern England but confirmation of this from an expert would be appreciated thanks. One is a Juvenile and one an adult, both have yellow legs, yellow bill with red spot and a white wing spot.

Habitat:

Right on the other side of the lake in potteric Carr.
