Description:

African tulip tree is a fast-growing evergreen tree native to tropical Africa.
African tulip tree is a Class 3 declared pest plant under Queensland legislation.
Grows very quickly up to 24 m high, leaves are broadly oval-shaped which are strongly veined, bronze when young, and a deep glossy green when mature, leaves about 20 cm long, leaflets leathery, leaf stalk 6-15 cm long, produces large flat clusters of velvety, bronze-green buds and large orange-red flowers with yellow frilly edges, seed capsules are reddish-brown and up to 20 cm in length..
