Welcome to Project Noah! Such fantastic spottings already!!
Project Noah Fun Fact: How do snapping turtles stay submerged so long underwater? Like many turtle species, they have a pair of sacs opening off the cloaca (combined digestive and urogenital chamber). These are heavily vascularized to facilitate the uptake of oxygen. So yes, they can breathe through their butt!
Congrats! This spotting has been featured as a PN Fun fact!
So glad you have joined Project Noah. You have a lot to offer here.
