Description:

Tall tree growing in water. Small, fern-like leaves and a large buttress at the base of each tree. 'Knees' can be seen popping up out of the water from nearby trees.

Habitat:

Taxodium distichum is a deciduous conifer that grows on saturated and seasonally inundated soils of the Southeastern and Gulf Coastal Plains of the United States. Wikipedia
