Field Notes

Description:

Fairly large shrub with smooth, ovate leaves. Deeply lobed pink flowers. Introduced from Eurasia originally as a cultivated plant. Very invasive.

Habitat:

Cedar Creek County Park, New York. Growing along a fence line next to a marsh and archery range.

Notes:

I do not know if these were cultivated or "wild" but they were growing in an area that didn't receive much attention.
