Field Notes

Description:

Bright yellow moth with brown markings, about 1.5 cm long. There is an astounding variety of Geometrid species that have yellow with brown markings! The first two pictures were spotted on May 16th are of the male. Pictures 3 and 4 are of the female, spotted on May 27th 2013 at an ultraviolet light in the same place. Picture 5 was taken on 28 August 2013 in the same place. The last picture of the under side of the wings was photographed on 3 Aug 2013, also in the same place.

Habitat:

Garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
