Field Notes

Notes:

We were on a walk through my orchard when a mama turkey with her four chicks burst out of the bushes, surprising us as they flew into the trees. And to my amazement the chicks were also totally able to escape very quickly by flying into the trees just like mama. After spending too much time taking pictures, we worried that we were keeping mama and the babies separates too long, we could hear them calling to each other. 5 minutes after we moved to a different area, i was really surprised, we could already see they reunited. It was a great experience to witness very personally.
