Description:

I found this bird in the deep forest in Way Kambas National Park - Sumatera - Indonesia. It is a small babbler 17 cm, olive brown with bare blue lores. Bright chestnut rump and black throat. Forehead black with fine white streaks, breast black scaled with white, grading to white belly streaked with black. Vent pale brown. Several races vary slightly. Iris - pale yellow, black billed and brown feet.

Notes:

Sumatera and Borneo rather common in lowland forest below 800 m.
