Field Notes

Notes:

About 2.5 inches in length. There were a lot of these little guys, maybe 4 within a 10 ft square radius. I thought it was a Damselfly but I'm thinking Dragonfly now.

It is, right? I was really surprised to see something so colorful where I live.
Coenagrionidae/Narrow-winged Damselflies, Argia/Dancers, looks like Agria vivida, the Vivid Dancer. It is actually a Damselfly. Please, verify! These Damselflies are not always easy to ID. You carefully have to look at each spot, band, shape, extension and location of these markings. The differences might be very subtle! http://bugguide.net/node/view/463/bgpage?from=25
