Field Notes

Description:

This guy walked right in front of me while I was checking out his burrow. I heard grass rustling nearby while I was looking at the hole, and after staring at me for a second the groundhog calmly walked right in to the burrow as if I wasn't there. He was carrying grass and leaves in his mouth, possibly nesting material.
