Field Notes

Description:

An erect annual plant covered by numerous tiny white bristles. The flowers are arranged in zigzag alternate pairs on a bractless spike that is coiled at the tip and unwinds while growing up. Each flower has five white petals in the shape of a star.

Habitat:

Commonly found close to arable fields.

Notes:

Maltese name: Vanilja Bajda
