Field Notes

Description:

I heard a different sound (song) and found this beautiful bird in the tall bushes at the end of the Vegetables Garden, it walked for a bit in the ground, it looked like a cat walking, very slow, like when a cat is hunting, went back up and kept on singing the mating call. Yesterday there was a reply by another of it's kind, but not today!

Habitat:

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
Found at 900 meter above sea level in what I suppose you could call degraded former forest.

Notes:

The Lesser Ground Cuckoo (Morococcyx erythropygus) is a species of cuckoo in the monotypic genus Morococcyx in the family Cuculidae. It is found in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
