Description:

The Lyre-tailed Nightjar is a species of nightjar in the Caprimulgidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Notes:

Female lacks the long resilient tail found on the male

Thanks Tom, this was not the same bird you saw. This was located in a canyon type area that my guide new of where the pair roosted daily. It was much closer than the one at Refugio de Paz
