Description:

The Common Potoo, Grey Potoo, Lesser Potoo or Poor-me-one, is a nocturnal bird which breeds in tropical Central and South America from Nicaragua to northern Argentina and northern Uruguay.

@Rieko http://www.flickr.com/photos/kksampeck/8736167829/ this is a Juvenile from the Northern Potoo that my former partner photographed in Belize earlier this year. The hatchlings come out solid white!
I would love to see the chick. It must be so cute ;-)
Thanks guys! This is actually a picture of a mother and its chick! The baby bird is tucked away in the mothers down, you can just see its feet in the puff of white that is tucked within the mother. I waited for over an hour and a half for the baby to peak its head out, or give me a better shot, but it never came through. Still an amazing site.
For a moment there, I thought this bird has lost it's head.
