Field Notes

Description:

Unknown bird of prey. I think that it is a mateing pair that is building a nest. (see dead tree in second picture) Possibly some type of hawk or eagle. Not a vulture.

Habitat:

Perching on dead tree on the "Heron Hideout" trail of the Circle B Bar Reserve.

Since it is so slim, I believe it to be a kite or harrier.
it could be a red-tailed hawk or a red-shouldered hawk
