Description:

Common pond turtle with olive upper shell, green head with yellow markings that extend down the neck to the soft body including the legs. This species also has a re d marking on each side of the head..

Habitat:

Ponds, lakes slow moving rivers and streams

Notes:

Often seen in numbers on logs and other resting places basking in the sun to warm threir bodies.
