Description:

Small berry, less than one inch in size.

Habitat:

Grassy yard near pond.

Notes:

Wild Strawberries are edible but not sweet like the Garden Strawberry, which was developed through hybridization of the wild subspecies. The spongy fruits contain high amounts of water, even during the hottest summer months.
