Description:

These are old forms of the specimen but If you puncture one of the young aethalia of Lycogala while it is still pinkish it is very soft inside and exudes blood red protoplasm giving it the common name of wolf's blood.

Habitat:

seen growing on a decaying tree stump in low common meadows.
