Field Notes

Description:

Fairly large turtle about 5-6 inches long it is a all terrestrial turtle and has yellow along the neck line and limbs.

Habitat:

Turtles like this can be found in a moist environment were a lot of vegetation can be found. Sometimes they can also be found near really shallow bodies of water so they can cool off.

Notes:

Saved this guy from getting hit by a car. I had to run out into the street and get him/her while cars were barely missing it.

All turtles have dry and rough skin if they are out of water. It is for sure a red eared slider.
I can see were you are coming and the info is much appreciated. I say it's terrestrial because it had dry and rough skin and the feet were not webbed at all.
I agree with TylerHake. I don't think it's a terrestrial turtle, but probably an aquatic species that was looking for a place to lay eggs. This is "wandering" turtle for turtles. Thanks for rescuing her (?)! BTW... when removing a turtle from the road, always put her on the side of the road in the direction it was travelling. If you put it back where it started from, it will probably just turn around and try to cross the road again.
