Field Notes

Description:

It is an annual plant, that reaches 20 - 80 cm in high. Leaf are present only in the lowest third of it. The basal leaves are often hairy and woolly. The flowers are red or purple. The flowering period is from March to July. Photo 2 shows the sead, photo 1 the flower, photo 3: leaves, photo 4 and 5 buds.

Habitat:

It is found across the Mediterranean. It grows in rocky areas, and dry places at altitudes 0 - 1150 m above the sea level.
