Description:
Outside in my yard I lifted up a rock and saw a lot of little ants everywhere.There was quite a few eggs and I lifted up a another rock and their were no eggs so I guess that one spot is where they lay their eggs.
Did you know that Queen ants are the founders of all colonies. Once mated, she can stay fertilized for many years laying millions of eggs.(that means that she is cape-belle of have a baby).Queen ants also have the record for the longest living of all insects, ranging from one to up to thirty years! Some queens can lay thousands of eggs each day. They really poop egg laying machines and if you killed and Ant its family would come and take home, cool!
Habitat:
Ants live on the ground or on the soil surface. They live in colonies; where you spot a small mound of dirt on the ground. One main characteristic of ants is their ability to leave pheromone trails to be followed by other ants.
Notes:
I was in my backyard and I just was playing, I started to lift up rock and I saw millions of ant's.Once they saw me there, they started to run and hide in the tunnels that they built but then they ran back out to try to bring their baby's inside It was so funny!
