Notes:

A dark brown nymphalid; unfortunately I never had a chance to take its picture with its wings open. Subfamily Satyrinae.

Thanks Daniele. I checked out the two species, and it is not easy to tell them apart, since there are many varieties of both, but I think you are right, it does have a pale border and some submarginal spots. I'll make the change.
Hi Emilie! After a second look I think it may be a Tawny Palmfly, Elymnias panthera. The Tawny Palmfly resembles Elymnias hypermnestra agina (The Common Palmfly) in size and wing shape, but it is dark brown above and the hindwing has a pale buff border bearing a series of submarginal spots. http://www.butterflycircle.com/checklist%20V2/CI/index.php/start-page/startpage/showbutterfly/112
