Field Notes

Description:

This beautiful reddish-pink moth had a wing span of about 60 mm. Each fore wing showed a white streak from the base to the trailing margin. Hind wings appeared to be a pale brown with tinges of orange.
The undersides of the wings were a pinkish-brown.

Notes:

Te larvae pupate in burrows on the ground and they wriggle up to the surface when the adult is ready to emerge.
The wing patterns seem to vary in these moths,- a previous one from 3 years ago in the same area: <br>
