Description:
Mourning doves are known for their mournfull calls. Cock birds are brighter in color than hens, with a pinkish suffusion to the brown feathering on the breast. Pairs will nest in a bush or tree, and are likely to rear several broods in succession. They often search for food on the ground and vidit bird tables. The spotted patterning on the wingscan differ from one individual to another.
