Field Notes

Description:

I discovered this mourning dove nest a few days ago in my neighbor's tree. I think there are only two chicks, and I'm pretty sure both photos are of the same one. Today I went by it and they were both out of the nest on the branch, but when I came back later the parents were there and they were back in the nest. If you look in the first picture it has one eye open and one eye closed!

Habitat:

A nest in a tree (I'm not sure what kind) in my neighbor's yard
