Field Notes

Description:

Two hippos having a brawl. I suspect they are fighting for territory.

Habitat:

Close to the shallows in the reeds after recent floods. Subtropical Kruger National Park

Notes:

The sounds that these 'river horses' make in a fight is just deafening, you can imagine and I hope all get to experience this thrilling sight! Luckily no blood was seen and all quietened down a few minutes later!
