You're right, the "smaller" of these two spiders definitely looks bigger than 5-6mm, as Wikipedia describes the males.
Not quite sure which smaller one you mean Emilie. With Nephiles the males are truly tiny critters - maybe one tenth the female size. They often appear on the opposite side of the web (for safety's sake :-)
