Field Notes

Description:

These two cuties are on my college campus and have been sitting in trees relatively visible for about two weeks now. Mom is always in the tree with them, but this was the first time I had seen them sitting next to each other so couldn't resist going home to get my camera :)

Habitat:

On my college campus. Campus is planted with a lot of trees, but the surrounding area is mixed grass prairie.

So cute Ashley, hoping they make it ,you have to make a "protetion" group in the campus to "save" them :-)it would be very cool to have allways there a group of Owls ,congrats and thanks for sharing
I hope you get more shots of them as the mature. I'm hoping the G B Herons didn't kill the owlets when the parents were out of the nest.
Thanks Tom! I'm just surprised they are still so fuzzy, they've been out of the nest for almost 3 weeks. That's sad about your nest, maybe they are still in the area though?
Great shot Ashley! I didn't get to see any owlets from the nest up here in the great blue heron colony. Last week when I checked for them, a heron was standing in the nest and no owls in sight:-(
