Field Notes

Description:

Black and white wings with an orange neck. They have long, blue legs and an upturned bill.

Habitat:

At the park in town. I have never seen avocets at this park before, but there was 12 of them in this group. Park is surrounded by mixed grass prairie.

Very nice Ashley! The only Avocets we get up here are always in winter plumage with no color. I think they look much better with the red neck and head:-)
