Field Notes

Description:

Bright yellow fungus looking growths on a fallen tree branch (unsure what tree species the branch was from as just a foot long section was broken and on the ground- common species in area are Douglas fir, cedar, spruce or western white pine). Found in Squamish, BC, (temperate rainforest coastal BC, Canada) today- 17/04/14. Lived here a while and I've never seen anything like this! What is it? Thank you!!

Habitat:

Southern BC Canada, coastal temperate rainforest.

You're welcome :-) BTW, I do not endorse eating any species that I've made a ID suggestion on ;-)
Thanks for your help! Wiki says it's edible too! I'll remember that in case I ever get lost in the woods!
