Description:

This turtle was on the road with a damaged shell, seemed uninjured apart from that. So we took him to the swampy side of the road and he went on his way.

Habitat:

Spotted near Fogg dam near Darwin

Yes definitely looks like Chelodina with that long neck but still can't be sure exactly yet. Thanks
Kerry, it's great that you rescued this turtle from the road! It looks like one of the turtles from Genus Chelodina: http://www.ozanimals.com/wildlife/Reptile/Freshwater-Turtles.html I am not sure which ones are in your area but maybe the link can help you figure out which one it is. :)
