Field Notes

Description:

Flowering plant of the orchid family, Orchidaceae,. It grows to 15-20 centimetres tall, with pink flowers produced from April. It has a stem with 5-9 basal leaves, flowering in spring with a erect inflorescence with few flowers, up to 2 cm long with purple bracteae shorter than the ovary.

Habitat:

Spotted in a little prairie between pine trees at 1000 meters high. La Pedriza, Parque Regional de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares. Sierra de Guadarrama.
